Prenatal visits are where trust is built and your journey begins. Each visit lasts about an hour, giving us time to connect, answer questions, and focus on how you and your baby are doing.

Schedule of Care

• Conception – 28 weeks: Appointments every 4 weeks
• 28 – 35 weeks: Appointments every 2 weeks
• 36 weeks – birth: Appointments weekly
• 36-week home visit: Midwife and birth assistant present

All prenatal appointments take place in the comfort of your own home.
This is a sacred time, and we respect it as such. The midwife follows your lead, as long as everything remains safe and within the realm of normal for an out-of-hospital birth.

Once you reach 37 weeks, your birth team is officially on call for you.

When labor begins, we’ll stay in contact and decide together when it’s time for the birth team to join you.
During labor, your midwife will:

• Check mom’s and baby’s vitals
• Listen to fetal heart tones
• Support and assess your progress
• Assist with the safe delivery of your baby and placenta

After birth, your midwife remains with you for at least 2 hours, monitoring both you and your baby and ensuring everyone is stable.
We also provide immediate postpartum care, including help with breastfeeding and newborn bonding.

Your postpartum period is just as important as your pregnancy and birth. We continue to care for you and your baby as you heal, rest, and adjust to life together.

• Phone check-in a few hours after birth
• 24-hour home visit
• 48-hour home visit
• 2-week home visit
• 6-week home visit

Each visit includes:

• Vitals for mom and baby
• Breastfeeding support
• Newborn exam
• Birth certificate and Social Security paperwork
• Time to discuss any concerns or questions

All postpartum visits are done in your home for your comfort and convenience.
